April 10th Street Party

Smiles beamed as brightly as the sun when hundreds of residents joined businesses in celebrating the re-opening of Stoke Newington Church Street after months of roadworks.

A carnival atmosphere was palpable as the community came together to officially mark the revival of one of Hackney's most prized assets on Saturday April 10.

A steel band played calypso music as hundreds of residents and interested shoppers flocked to the street to see what was going on.

Hackney Council and the SNBA provided funding for the event which began around 10am and continued until around 5pm.
